Ask most precast plants how they handle quality control, and you'll usually hear some version of the same story: a checklist on a clipboard, a binder of inspection sheets in the office, and a QC manager who can probably tell you what happened on a piece if you give them a few minutes to dig through paper.
That's not a knock on the people doing the work—it's just what happens when QC data lives on paper instead of inside the product's actual history. The information exists. It's just scattered, hard to search, and disconnected from everything else happening on the floor.
We built quality control into Idencia's Aiden platform to fix exactly that. Instead of a binder, every check, every repair, and every defect gets attached directly to the piece it belongs to—tagged by RFID, signed off in the field, and visible the moment it happens.
Checks That Flex to How Your Plant Actually Runs
Not every check needs the same rules. In the app, an inspector works down a list—Form Condition & Cleanliness, Reinforcement Type & Size, Joint Setup—and each one can be built the way that step actually needs it: a straight pass/fail, a pass/fail with an N/A for steps that don't apply, required or optional, with a signature or without. A tag-attached confirmation and an inspector signature close out the check before the piece moves on.
Nobody's forcing a rigid workflow onto a process that doesn't match it. The checklist bends to the plant, not the other way around.
When Something Fails, the Trail Doesn't Disappear
A failed check isn't a dead end—it's a status change. From Post-Pour, a piece can move to Needs Repair, Needs Finishing, Incomplete Piece, or Scrap, and that single tap opens the non-conformance record.
From there, the inspector logs a defect type (delamination, say), a root cause (production, handling, mix variance, whatever actually caused it), and attaches a photo of the issue before signing off. Later, at final inspection, the repair approval date and a second signature close the loop, and the status updates one more time.
Nothing about that record gets lost in a drawer. If the same root cause keeps showing up, it's visible immediately—not buried in three months of paper.
Dashboards That Answer the Question Before Someone Has to Ask It
Once that data is being captured, it's actually useful. The Repair & NCR Management dashboard shows open NCR count, total repair cost, and average time to repair at a glance, alongside a cost trend and a breakdown of root causes—click into "mix variance" and the whole view filters down to just those items. No exporting to a spreadsheet first. It's just there, updated in real time, across every plant you run.
And because every check and every repair is tied to whoever logged in and did it, accountability isn't a guessing game. You can see who ran the inspection, who recorded the repair, and when.
