We really enjoy learning how our customers make best use of concrete product tracking for their plants. Since the practice is relatively new, by definition our customers are forward- thinking. So there is a lot to learn from how they improve their productivity. We learn from them and pass it on to the rest of the industry. Here are three of the most popular applications.

1. Automatic notice of non-conformance

Defects ReportWhen defects are recorded in the post-pour inspection, they are generated in a defects report. This report is automatically emailed to engineering or other people responsible for reviewing repairs. They can click on the product record to review the issues recorded in the post-pour inspection, including a picture of the defect. Once the repair is made, a subsequent inspection is undertaken and the the status of the product is changed from 'Needs Repair' to 'Approved'.  The entire thread of the product history will remain for internal use while the customer will receive only the final report. The precast manufacturer can also draw on the metadata to analyze trends related to the underlying issues.

2. Bill of lading from scanning

Bill of LadingWhen products are placed on the truck they can be scanned to produce a bill of lading that identifies each piece. The BoL can also contain other important information such as the total weight of the load, calculated by adding the weight of each piece drawn from the information in its product record. This avoids shipping mistakes, ensures proper loading and enhances accuracy in inventory records.

3. Concrete tests results for each product

Concrete Report for Product

The customers of our customers are asking for more granular information about the products they receive. Today, instead of asking for concrete test results and product QC records as separate files, they are increasingly asking for the concrete test results for each product. With the electronic records of product tracking, this is now practical. Each product record can be married to the concrete test results from the batch that produced the product. So, wet test information and cylinder break records can be presented for each product.

The best part about these Idencia features is that they were all developed in response to suggestions from our customers. Please keep them coming!
